Id asked around.
Are the pyramids as amazing as they seem in pictures?
I was told I wouldnt be disappointed and I wasnt. Not even close.
Desiree, Mike and I spent an entire day wandering around the Pyramids of Giza, taking in their massiveness and wonder. We crawled on hands and feet inside the steep, Indiana Jones style tunnel into the tomb of the largest pyramid. Having run ahead, winded, I came alone into a small dark room.
The walls and high ceilings were made of cold black stone. At the end of the room was an open stone coffin, waist high and just my length. Still alone I climbed into King Cheops sarcophagus and lay down. It was so quite I could hear my breath echoing in the cave. Later that night I had nightmares of pyramids and thousands of snakes. Maybe Cheop didnt like me in his bed.
With Sara and her friend Shady, we went back to Giza one evening for a light show with dramatic music and Twilight-Zone style narration. We watched this show from the rooftop of a Pizza Hut with a phenomenal view, facing all four pyramids and the sphinx. I can safely say Ive been to the coolest Pizza Hut in the world.
The Pyramids of Giza are one of those places and things pictures will never do justice. You really have to go there. Nevertheless, here are a few shots!

I LOVE the top photo. It really puts the Pyramid’s size in prospective. Great shots! We’ll see you soon. Love, Aunt Zeth

I always thought the pyramids were smooth on the outside. It looks like they are made of blocks piled upon each other which, from far away, may look smooth but are not. Are there pyramids that are smooth? Full of crap about the coffin!
